Today technology has taken over America’s youth and gets more respect than actual reality, you can download an app on just about anything, and some people are even crazy enough to think “Experience isn’t the best teacher, I learned all this stuff on the internet so you cant tell me nothing”. I feel like my dad at times because I don’t understand these kids anymore, but I have a solution (Kids Mudder). In a world where technology changes so often, I feel that we should use that same energy to change our health habits and lifestyles. When I was a kid we used to play baseball, football, you name it and we played it, but today they got video games, cell phones, tablets and all kind of good stuff to take kids away from real-time physical activity and reasons like that is why more kids are obese and not as healthy as previous generations. Each child needs a specific amount of activity each day and a proper dose of nutrition to repair and rejuvenate their muscles and organs and plenty of water.
The Kids Mudder will be an obstacle course that mixes fun activity with nutrition and exercise so that kids get an early start to a healthy lifestyle. The obstacle course will consist of tires, slides, catapillar crawl, and monkey bars. To begin the course we will start by identifying the food pyramids, caloric intake and proper nutrition. Second we will warm-up with jumping jacks, mountain climbers, and jump ropes.
I feel we can build the obstacle in the furthest playground, and we can get local city donations like tires etc. so it will be cost effective. The Kids Mudder can be a good and positive parent and child activity in which the parents can participate in the course too along with their other children and family members. I feel confident that the Kids Mudder will be a positive program for the Community House as well as the community as I am hoping to make this a standard in the school systems.
I also feel I need to further my education so I can continue to service and help the community. So me taking Exercise Science and Nutrition makes sense. Good training to all, and to all a good fight!!!
